Man accused of assaulting an Uber driver asks to represent himself, denied by judge
The man accused of trying to sexually assault an Uber driver was in court Wednesday.
Raydrian Scott told the judge he wanted to represent himself because he couldn’t trust his lawyer.
The judge refused his request — after asking Scott about his legal training, to which Scott replied he had “very little”.
That reply upset him and he then asked deputies to take him back to jail.
Scott is due back in court in November and will be represented by his court-appointed lawyer.
The judge also gave deputies permission to use reasonable force to bring him to court for his preliminary hearing.
