Caon City police capture two escaped inmates Monday

Cañon City police captured two inmates who allegedly escaped the Territorial Correctional Facility area around 10:30 a.m. Monday.

When officers arrived after reports of the two inmates escaping from the prison, they were quickly able to locate 61-year-old Luke Tanner. Police say Tanner attempted to run from officers before he was detained and transported back to the Fremont County Jail.

The second inmate, identified as 41-year-old George Roloff was still on the loose until about noon Monday. Cañon City police confirmed his capture to KRDO. Roloff is described as a white male with red hair and blue eyes. Police say he’s 5’11 and around 220 lbs.

Further details behind their escape have not been released.
