Mostly sunny and slightly cooler – 06/11/18
Today: Temperatures today will be roughly ten degrees cooler compared to what we got yesterday. We’ll have a little bit of relief from our heat wave today! Highs will range in the 80s and 90s for the lower elevations with a few 70s for the local mountains. Mostly sunny skies are expected. While winds won’t be quite as gusty as what we had Sunday, fire danger remains elevated. Avoid outdoor burning! The area stays primarily storm-free today.
Tonight: Mostly clear skies are expected overnight. Lows tumble to the 40s and 50s.
Extended: Temperatures hang on to the 80s and 90s throughout the rest of our work week forecast. We’ll have increasing clouds later this week. Tomorrow in the eastern plains, we have chances for severe storms where damaging gusts to 60 mph and large hail can’t be ruled out. It could be quite active across the plains of Colorado tomorrow! Beyond that, we’re tracking the possibility for isolated-to-scattered storms daily through our seven day forecast. This upcoming Saturday and Sunday, we’ll be dealing with increasing moisture and storms in the area. This weekend, southwesterly winds will open us up to moisture from a weakening tropical storm (Bud). We’ll track it!
