Natty Fire in Fremont County reaches 100% containment
UPDATE: As of Sunday night, the Natty Fire is 100 percent contained.
Fire crews are bring pulled from the fire, but the Bureau of Land Management will continue to patrol and monitor the site over the next few days until the fire is completely out.
ORIGINAL ARTICLE: The Natty Fire has burned about 79 acres in Fremont County and is 70 percent contained.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office sent a message on Twitter saying the fire is currently on BLM land near the Phantom Canyon area. It is burning about four miles south of the Teller County line.
According to fire officials, the fire was sparked by lightning.
Multiple helicopters and air tankers are battling the flames from above, and two hand crews are on the ground, according to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office.
