Charles Krauthammer battles cancer, says he only has a few weeks left to live

The famed conservative columnist, Charles Krauthammer, informed the public on Friday that he is fighting an aggressive form of cancer.

“My doctors tell me their best estimate is that I have only a few weeks left to live,” he wrote in a note on the Washington Post website.

Krauthammer was a longtime Fox News commentator and Washington Post, columnist.

According to CNN, he had to step away from both jobs in August for surgery to remove a cancerous tumor in his abdomen. The surgery was considered successful, but recent tests showed that the cancer had returned and was spreading rapidly.

“There was no sign of it as recently as a month ago, which means it is aggressive and spreading rapidly,” Krauthammer wrote. ” This is the final verdict. My fight is over.”

Krauthammer finished the note by writing: “I leave this life with no regrets. It was a wonderful life — full and complete with the great loves and great endeavors that make it worth living. I am sad to leave, but I leave with the knowledge that I lived the life that I intended.”
