Special lemonade stand coming to Colorado Springs
A sweet gesture for some young men from Stapleton who lost their lemonade stand.
William, Ben, and Jonathan, opened a stand to raise money for Compassion International, which helps children impacted by extreme poverty around the world. The stand was shut down by the police after someone called them to complain the boys didn’t have a permit to sell lemonade at a local park on Memorial Day weekend.
Compassion International has invited the boys to set up their stand at its headquarters in Colorado Springs. The boys will be selling lemonade from noon to 2:00 p.m., at the facility at 12290 Voyager Pkwy.
The boys also opened a virtual lemonade stand on GoFundMe, after they were told they couldn’t sell lemonade at the park. Since launching that effort, more than $3,000 have been raised for Compassion International.
