Thunderstorms rapidly develop between Colorado Springs, Pueblo
UPDATE – 6:55 p.m. Conditions are quieting down around Southern Colorado as the strong to severe storms have moved well north and east. A few showers are still likely to linger around the Pikes Peak Region.
5:45 p.m. All of our severe thunderstorm warnings have expired. We are still tracking some shower and storm activity moving northeast through Elbert county, towards Limon.
4:38 p.m. Several severe storms containing gusty winds and large hail located east of Colorado Springs are moving north at about 15 mph. These storms will soon be impacting Ellicott.
3:48 p.m. Strong to severe storms containing gusty winds and small hail are moving east of Colorado Springs and north of Monument. A new Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for Central El Paso County until 4 PM for half dollar size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. This storm is located SE of Colorado Springs and moving north at 20 mph.
Severe thunderstorms are developing in El Paso County, prompting a warning for Colorado Springs Monday afternoon until 3:45 p.m.
The storms were seen making their way northeast at about 15 mph. The edge of the storm was east of Widefield as of 3:30 p.m.
One viewer sent in a picture of quarter-sized hail that fell in Crystola.

Much of the viewing area is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m. The biggest threat from these storms can include, large hail, damaging wind gusts, and frequent lightning. Also, Lincoln County is under a tornado watch until 9 p.m.
