Medal of Honor recipients honored with Colorado Springs memorial

A new statue honoring Medal of Honor recipients from El Paso County was dedicated at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs this past weekend.

Jesse Funk, Floyd Lindstrom, and Gerald Young were the names inscribed into the memorial, which was dedicated Sunday by the American Legion Post 5.

According to the American Legion, Funk received his medal in 1918, Lindstrom received his in 1942 and Young received his medal in 1967.
