Man bites police officer at Territory Days

A man was arrested after biting a police officer during Territory Days in Old Colorado City Saturday night.

The officer was working security at the event when they were notified about an intoxicated man harassing people, Colorado Springs police said. The officer contacted the man, who left, but then came back. The man became aggressive toward the officer, police said. When the officer tried to arrest him, it turned into a fight. The man bit the officer’s hand twice. He was arrested once backup arrived. However, the man spit on another officer, police said.
The officers suffered minor injuries.
Robert Martel was arrested on two counts of 2nd Degree Assault on an Officer, Disorderly Conduct, and Obstructing an Officer.
