Search for armed robbery suspect continues

County, state, and federal authorities are searching for a man who robbed five banks at gunpoint within the last two months.

Three of the robberies took place in Pueblo West, another in Pueblo, and one in Colorado Springs. Chief David Lucero with the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Bureau believe’s says “this guy is causing a lot of panic in our community. He has to be stopped.”

The latest robbery was on Thursday. The suspect going into a Pueblo West with a gun demanding money. PCSO says the man left in a green SUV. That same day, that suspect robbed another bank, this time in South Pueblo. A photo was taken of the suspect fleeing the scene in a white truck. Lucero says the man switched vehicles between robberies.

Officials say the armed robberies first started on March 29th and happened on a weekly basis. Multiple photos of the suspect have been released but his face is well covered. Lucero hopes with all the photos they have of the suspect and the vehicles used in the getaways, it will jog someone’s memory. “Somebody out there knows who this person is. We really rely on the public to assist us.”

Below are the pictures of the suspect and the vehicles used. If you recognize the person or vehicles you are encouraged to call the police. However, they say do not approach the suspect. He is considered armed and dangerous.
