Warm weather continues – 05/23/18
Today: Our warm weather continues throughout your entire seven day forecast! Temperatures will be well above-average (Averages are in the 70s) with highs in the 80s and 90s nearly daily. Unfortunately, there will be some times of elevated fire danger through your seven day outlook. In fact, there are Red Flag Warnings issued for the San Luis Valley this afternoon. No outdoor burning! Elsewhere, winds will be slightly breezy. There’s a chance for strong-to-severe storms in the far eastern plains today where there could be damaging gusts and large hail. Everywhere else, we can’t entirely rule out a stray shower. Beyond that, the weather looks okay (albeit warm!) for the Air Force Academy graduation ceremony.
Tonight: Mainly clear skies are expected overnight. Lows drop to the 40s and 50s. A few showers and storms could linger near the Kansas state line. Those should clear up by early Thursday.
Extended: Temperatures will be at their warmest point this weekend. Remember to stay hydrated and keep the sunscreen handy if you’re adventuring outside across southern Colorado! We’ll have lots of sunshine and primarily dry weather into next Tuesday. Of course, this could change. Stick with us! Into Sunday and the start of next week, it could be gusty. Again, we’ll be tracking some high fire danger in our short-term forecast.
