51 cats removed from Canon City home after eviction

A person in Canon City who was evicted this month had to give up 51 cats to the Humane Society of Fremont County this week.

Now the animal organization is asking for donations to help feed the cabal of cats, and more than $2,000 has been raised so far.

According to the Humane Society of Fremont County, nearly all of the female adult cats are pregnant. Several kittens and some of the adults also have upper respiratory infections, and two cats have ulcerated mouths missing the tops of their lips.

The cats are being cared for, but it’s not clear if they’re up for adoption just yet.

You can help by donating to the Humane Society’s Amazon wishlist HERE.
