Air Force Thunderbirds cleared to travel

The Air Force’s premier aerial demonstration team has been cleared to travel. The Thunderbirds made the announcement Monday afternoon.

The Thunderbirds have been grounded since a fatal training accident in April near Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada.

This means the Air Force’s “Ambassadors in Blue” will be in Colorado Springs for their traditional show for the United States Air Force Academy Graduation on May 23rd.

The team’s first show will be the Air Power over Hampton Roads at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia on May 19th.
