Another day of fire danger – 5/11/18
TODAY: A wind alert level 1 is in place today due to wind gusts as high as 40mph. Low relative humidity and dry fuels mean the fire danger is high today. Red flag warnings will be out from 11am until 9pm for the southern half of the state. Temperatures will still be in the 70s, 80s and 90s today, but local records will not be set. A few more clouds are possible by the second half of the day, which could produce a sprinkle over the higher terrain.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy remain tonight and our overnight lows drop into the 40s and 50s.
EXTENDED: Elevated fire danger is possible tomorrow and will then decrease through the weekend as more moisture and shower chances move in. Mother’s day weekend looks mainly dry with the exception of an isolated shower or storm both Saturday and Sunday. Those rain chances increase Monday through Thursday and will be acompanied by cooler highs in the 70s.
