Fallen Peace Officers memorial to be dedicated at Memorial Park
Memorial Park in Colorado Springs is home to a new display honoring the peace officers in El Paso and Teller counties who gave their lives in the line of duty.
The new Peace Officers Memorial will be dedicated with a ribbon-cutting next Tuesday, which is also Peace Officers Memorial Day.
The memorial will have the names of the 32 peace officers killed in the two counties since 1985. The most recent addition to the memorial is El Paso County Deputy Micah Flick, who was fatally shot by an auto-theft suspect on Feb. 5.
Each name will be listed on a bronze plaque.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. by Union Boulevard, just south of Pikes Peak Avenue.
