Select Pueblo City Schools to reopen amid teacher strike

Several schools in Pueblo District 60 are set to reopen amid an ongoing teacher strike.

The district said there are enough teachers who aren’t part of the Pueblo Education Association union guidelines to reopen several schools.

The following is from Pueblo District 60:

Beginning on May 8, all pre-school programs in the district, with the exception of Bessemer and Franklin, will reopen. In addition, Paragon High School will reopen as well.

Haaff Elementary will open to all students beginning Wednesday.

In addition to those schools, Centennial, Central, East and South will be open to APEX students Wednesday.

Each school will provide daily communications to families regarding the possibility of additional school openings moving forward.

Pueblo City Schools will continue to provide free lunches for students from 11:30 – 12:30 at the following locations:

Baca Elementary School

Belmont Elementary School

Beulah Heights Elementary School

Minnequa Elementary School

Morton Elementary School

Rawlings Library

Additional sites added at: Pete Jimenez Park, Risley International Academy of Innovation.
