Jefferson County Search and Rescue locate missing hikers near Goose Creek and Wigwam Trailheads
UPDATE 3:35 p.m. : Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is reporting the hikers have been found safe. The sheriff’s office says they had gotten lost.
A rescue team is currently escorting them out of the area, but it will be several hours before they make it all the way out.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office launched a search on Saturday to find three missing hikers.
JCSO is working with Alpine Search and Rescue to find the trio of hikers near the Goose Creek and Wigwam Trailheads.
The two female 17-year-olds, one of whom is an experienced backpacker, and one male 19-year-old, all of whom had appropriate gear and food and were dressed for the hike, were dropped off Wednesday, but did not return to the trailhead yesterday to be picked up as planned.
Officials are working to get photos of the hikers and are asking for info from anyone who may have seen them in those areas in the past few days.
