Colorado Parks & Wildlife: No report of mountain lion in west Colorado Springs
Colorado Parks & Wildlife says a report Friday morning by Colorado Springs police about a mountain lion sighting in the west side of town was erroneous.
Springs police issued a tweet alerting people about a mountain lion sighting near Manitou Blvd. and Monument Street. That information was reported by multiple media outlets.
But CP&W official Bill Vogrin says there’s been no report of a mountain lion and that there’s no threat. Vogrin did add that mountain lions are common in the area.
Springs police clarified their tweet at about 3:10 p.m.
UPDATE: There was a brief sighting of a Mountain Lion on the west side of Colorado Springs near Manitou Blvd/Monument St. We tweeted that Colorado Parks & Wildlife was notified. Is was a miscommunication and they were not notified.
