Man finds donor after wearing at T-shirt asking for kidney transplant at Disney World

Last summer, Robert Leibowitz went to Disney World wearing a T-shirt with a plea for a kidney donor. With the magic of Disney, power of social media and the kind act of a stranger, Leibowitz found a kidney donor.

A stranger named Rocio Sandoval took a picture of Leibowitz and posted it to Facebook. The post ended up being shared 90,000 times.

Richie Sully saw the post and had just found out the day before that he shared the same blood type as Leibowtiz. Sully called Leibowtiz and after some tests and meeting Leibowtiz, Sully scheduled the procedure.

On January 18 at New York Presbyterian, Sully donated a kidney to Leibowtiz.

It’s a very big deal to Leibowitz who is a dad of five and had suffered chronic kidney failure. Sully says Leibowtiz has been thanking him non-stop.
