Travelers begin to see cheaper flights at Colorado Springs Airport
Flying from the Colorado Springs airport is getting cheaper. This week, Frontier Airlines advertised their cheapest flight for the airport since 1997.
On Monday, ticket prices to Las Vegas were $20. On Tuesday and Wednesday, flights go up to $29. The Colorado Springs airport is hoping these cheaper airfares will entice fliers to book their travel here rather than driving to the Denver International Airport (DIA).
Sydney Kozel, the public communications specialist for the airport, says, “We have such easy parking, easy check-in, short TSA and security lines, and our airport fares are approximately $42 higher than the average airfare.”
On Tuesday, one flier said, “It’s more convenient to fly out here. Who wants to fly out of Denver anymore?” Another one added, “there’s so much traffic. It seems like there is a wreck every day on the interstate.”
The deal by Frontier Airlines only goes until Wednesday night. It is offered on certain days of the week, starting January 30 through March 6. Other destinations include Los Angeles and San Diego for under $50. For more information, click here.
