El Paso County woman arrested for stabbing man to death

A 22-year-old woman was arrested by El Paso County deputies early Wednesday morning for allegedly stabbing a man to death just south of Colorado Springs.

According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, Tatyana King was booked and charged with first-degree murder.

The sheriff’s office says deputies were called to the 1600 block of Hampton South ( MAP ) for a stabbing in progress. When they arrived, they found a man lying on the ground with stab wounds.

The victim was taken to Memorial Hospital but later died. His identity hasn’t been released, pending notification of family.

Deputies found witnesses nearby and later located King before arresting her.

She is being held without bond and will be back in court January 30 at 8:30 a.m.

The sheriff’s office says it’s the first homicide of 2018 in unincorporated El Paso County.
