Gradually getting warmer – 01/02/18

Today: Temperatures will gradually warm up the next couple of days. However, today it will still be crisp! Highs will only range in the 30s and 40s. On top of that, we could be dealing with negative dewpoint temperatures! This will make for a VERY dry day. Bust out the chapstick, use lotion and stay hydrated! We’ll have mostly sunny skies today and it could be gusty in the eastern plains this afternoon.

Tonight: Overnight lows drop to the teens and single digits under mostly clear skies. Breezy conditions should decrease.

Extended: As a ridge of high pressure moves from the Great Basin towards Colorado the next few days, temperatures will continue to warm! We’ll rebound to the 50s for most by Thursday. This upcoming weekend, a disturbance in the atmosphere will create some showers over the western slope and the Continental Divide. It’s too early to determine if the lower elevations could get showers on Sunday, but we’ll keep you posted with the latest in the coming days.
