Equipment failure leads to power outage near Academy and Austin Bluffs

An equipment failure caused around 1,000 Colorado Springs Utilities customers to be without power Monday night.

Colorado Springs Utilities took to Twitter to provide updates about the outage in the area of Academy and Austin Bluffs.

Around 900 customers were still without power as of 11 p.m. Monday. The peak of the outage impacted about 1,200 customers.

Power is expected to be restored to the remaining customers around 1 a.m., according to CSU.
