Coroner: Man found dead along Alamosa River drowned

Authorities say a Monte Vista man whose body was found at a campground along the Alamosa River in June drowned.

Conejos County Coroner Richard Martin released his findings Tuesday in the death of 52-year-old Jeffory Calvert. The manner of death has not been determined.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Rio Grande County Sheriff’s Office are handling the case.

CBI spokeswoman Susan Medina declined to comment on whether foul play has been ruled out.
