Utility rates to increase on next bill for Springs residents

An increase in rates from Colorado Springs Utilities was set to go in affect on Monday.

Residents are expected to see a hike in electric and gas rates on their next bill.

City Council met the last week in July and agreed to increase residential commercial and industrial rates.

Most residential electric rates will increase by four percent.

Gas for homes will go up by about 10 percent.
