Man arrested in COS for attempting to traffic drugs to Fla.

Multiple law enforcement officers teamed up to arrest a man who was attempting to traffic drugs from Colorado Springs to Florida, according to police.

Manuel Menendez, 27, was found at the Rodeway Inn on Saturday with over 14 pounds of marijuana, three grams of cocaine and $28,000 of cash.

Anonymous tips to the Metro VNI led officials to Menendez. The VNI Detectives, CSPD and K9s were used during the investigation.

When officers approached Menendez’s hotel room, he was intoxicated and armed with a .45 caliber Glock in his waistband. He was immediately arrested for prohibited use of a weapon.

K9’s found the drugs and the cash in the back of Menendez’s vehicle.
