Memorial Day service at Evergreen Cemetery

springs.. crowds gathered at evergreen cemetery to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice. while many gathered to pay their respects and leave flowers and flags. there was an educational opportunity for the kids. the pikes peak chapter of the “national society of the sons of the american revolution”.. held a presentation that included an honor guard musket fire. they say their goal is to honor our military men and women .. and make sure the youth understand why memorial day is so important. “schooling these days are always finically pressed and so we wanted to make sure the schools much of the american revolution experience as possible so we bring in the stuff and help them augment the training.” the ceremony ended with a butterfly release.. which is a traditional celebration to mark an important
