War veteran brings unique way to honor fallen heroes to Colorado Springs
A man is making it his mission to remember fallen heroes in a unique way in Colorado Springs.
Memory expert and veteran Ron White began creating his Afghanistan Memory Wall Friday at 6 a.m. He plans to spend 10 hours writing the names and ranks of more than 2,300 service members lost in Afghanistan. Using only his memory, White will list all of them in Chronological order.
“I think it’s important to always remember the men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom. We forget that we’re still at war… We still have men and women who are going off to fight our battles,” said Kent Fortune, event partner with USAA.
White travels throughout the country for this project with the help of USAA. This is the first time the wall has been in Colorado Springs, and it’s all in observance of Memorial Day.
