Two men wanted for allegedly shooting at Pueblo deputy, officer

Pueblo law enforcement is searching for two men they believe shot at a deputy and police officer Thursday morning.

Officials suspect Joe Romero and Daniel Dedmon are the two behind the shots fired from an SUV.

A Pueblo police officer was assisting a sheriff’s deputy on a traffic stop on West Northern Ave and Beulah Avenue. While they were checking on the occupants of the vehicle, shots were fired at them from an SUV.

The black, Chevy Equinox drove off at a high rate of speed on Northern Avenue. Investigators followed, but lost sight of the vehicle.

It was found a short time later in the area of East Pitkin Avenue and Jefferson Street. No one was inside.

According to reports, a Hispanic woman that was reportedly in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop was found at a home nearby the abandoned SUV and was taken into custody.
