Medal of Honor Recipient Details Battle in New Book
From Ft. Carson soldier to author, Former Staff Sergeant Clinton Romesha has chronicled the battle that earned him the Medal of Honor in a new book, “Red Platoon”.
It was October 3, 2009, 300 Taliban fighters raided Combat Outpost Keating, in Afghanistan.
Former Staff Sergeant Clinton Romesha led a cadre of few — but mighty — men in a bold counterattack.
“We come from real communities, all different backgrounds, different religions, different creeds. But, when push comes to shove, you’re in a fraternity that’s like no other. You know they have your back and you have theirs,”said Romesha. “I always think of myself as a warrior. The true heroes are the men and women to don’t get to come home.”
“Red Platoon” is on store shelves now.
