Lake Pueblo welcoming visitors for holiday weekend

Memorial Day to some is the kickoff to summer, and Lake Pueblo officials expect a big crowd over the holiday weekend.

The State Park usually sees long lines and full camping sites, so there are plenty of activities planned for visitors to enjoy.

All boat ramps will be open, so the park’s operation manager is reminding people to be safe and not drink and boat. He also said to be prepared for bad weather.

“If the weather starts picking up, if the waves start picking up, you start seeing lightning, things like that, we always suggest to folks to just come to shore,” said Brian Kerrigan, Lake Pueblo operations Manager.

Just as a reminder, some of the roads in the park are still under construction, so drive carefully. Many paved trails are closed for repairs.
