Winner of Dancing with the Stars inspiring deaf, blind Springs students
Students at the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind say Nyle DiMarco’s win on Dancing with the Stars was an inspiration.
DiMarco won the competition that aired on ABC on Tuesday night.
His win not only proved deafness isn’t a disability, but the students in Colorado Springs are using it as an opportunity to bring awareness to the deaf culture.
“It really showed that we can be successful. This is a deaf person in our community, and it was very inspiring to see him do this and really show hearing people that deaf people can do anything without sound,” said Max Wilding.
To show support for DiMarco, some of the students at the school held “watch parties” for the show.
