Nurse puts out fire at Penrose Hospital
Most nurses would say they put out fires all the time, but they don’t mean it literally. That changed for one nurse in Colorado Springs Thursday.
Penrose-St. Francis Health Services says a nurse put out a small electrical fire at Penrose Hospital, 2222 N. Nevada Avenue, north of downtown.
The hospital says the fire started in an electrical box in a supply room on the 11th floor.
The nurse used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames.
No evacuations were necessary and no one was hurt.
The Colorado Springs Fire Department said the fire was already out when firefighters arrived. No word on if the fire department plans to offer the nurse a job.
