Castle Rock boy plays ‘Cadet for a Day’
A Colorado boy’s wish came true Thursday afternoon.
Cade Eagle of Castle Rock became a ‘Cadet for a Day’ at the Air Force Academy.
The 10-year-old is in remission from Leukemia. He loves to build things.
Dressed in an official jumpsuit, he toured the engraving shop, and even received a special plaque.
His favorite part though: seeing a machine that can break titanium.
“Well, I was waiting for it to break. Like, it holds 30,000 pounds! So I was waiting for it to happen, t was so loud and it popped,” Cade said.
Before the day ended, Cade took a ride in a wheel chair, operated only by head movements. The Air Force hopes to get Nascar to use the technology.
