Report: Planned Parenthood shooting suspect now says he wants a trial
Planned Parenthood Shooting suspect Robert Dear has changed his mind about pleading guilty, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette.
In a phone call to the newspaper, Dear said he is innocent of “99-percent” of the charges that have been filed against him.
Dear originally planned to plead guilty, calling himself a “warrior for the babies” at a hearing in December.
On Tuesday, Dear told The Gazette Quote “Yeah, I tried to save the babies. Yeah, I did have a shootout,” but he went on to say that he’s innocent of some of the charges he’s facing and he wants to fight those charges.
A total of 179 felony counts were filed against Dear, including 8 first degree murder charges and 131 attempted first degree murder charges.
Three people died and nine others were hurt in the November 27 shooting at Planned Parenthood’s Centennial Boulevard clinic.
