Evening of arguing leads to Colorado Springs shooting, police say
Colorado Springs Police say a man was taken into surgery after he was shot in the knee Monday night.
The incident happened in the 300 block of N. Institute Street, east of downtown, at 6:45 p.m. on March 28, 2016.
Both men apparently live in the home, which police described as a cottage.
The shooter told police that he had been arguing and physically fighting with the man who was shot, and that he decided to get a gun because he feared for his safety. The man told police that at some point as the arguing continued, he felt threatened, so he shot the other man in the knee.
No arrests have been made. Police say the case will likely be turned over to the district attorney’s office to determine if charges should be filed.
