Easter service grows due to cancellations
Many of the large Easter Sunday church services in Colorado were canceled because of the cold weather and snow that we saw this past week.
But in Pueblo one congregation was anticipating an increase in its usual large Easter Sunday service crowd because of the cancellations at Red Rocks and the Royal Gorge.
The Fellowship of the Rockies held its Easter service at the Southwest Motors Event Center Sunday morning.
The church’s growth pastor said more than 3,000 people were expected to attend the service.
He also said it’s important for the church to hold it in a space where anyone can attend.
“For us it’s huge because it opens an opportunity for anybody in Pueblo to attend a worship time,” said Duane Arledge, group pastor at Fellowship of the Rockies.
The church also holds a similar large services on Christmas Eve.
