case. new tonight, it’s the nail in the cannibis club coffin. the colorado springs city council voted today to force them to close permanently… but those clubs aren’t going down without a fight. krdo newschannel 13’s greg miller was at that meeting. he joins us live with a copy of a complaint that could cost the city some big money in legal fees. greg, some strong voices of opposition in this case. bart, this is a draft of a the complaint and tonight seven cannabis clubs plan to file a finalized suit. council says they’re listening to the people… but club owners say that’s not true. nats – a fight with passion 1:20 alcohol kills, cannabis heals. a fight with a lot of green at risk. cash and pot. 3:55:instead of them learning and being open-minded they’re just shutting us out completely. owns club a64 – a members only cannabis club. springs city council has always said it’s a murky operation – customers pay a fee… and clubs give the members pot. 4:49 a requirement of city government is not to provide people a place to smoke marijuana. so council is closing them down. and some agree. sot:it is a fertile ground for gaining access to marijuana from people who are not authorized to have it. standup:the club says they’re not done fighting yet, they’re planning to file suit, so that this open sign can stay lit. 1:07: something they enacted for years, in many cases, they banned eventually. seven shops — plan to file suit, saying the ban is a violation of their constitutional rights to gather and partake in something legal and there’s no public harm. 6:41: when people are screaming about the kids, there aren’t any kids here. i don’t even know where that logic comes in. hoping to prove their case, so their doors don’t close for good. the attorney says he plans to file the suit once it’s signed by the mayor within the next few days. in studio, gm, nc 13.
