Clinton, Cruz outline differing strategies to defeat ISIS in wake of Brussels bombings
In the wake of the Brussels attacks, Sen. Ted Cruz called for surveillance of Muslim neighborhoods in the United States.
Cruz believes the terrorist attacks in Belgium are part of a bigger war waged by ISIS that Hillary Clinton and President Obama refuse to see.
“They have declared Jihad, their intention to murder as many Europeans, as many Israelis, as many Americans as they can, and we have right now a president who refuses to acknowledge what’s happening,” Cruz said.
In a counterterrorism speech at Stanford University on Wednesday, Clinton fought for a strong, inclusive relationship between the government and American Muslims.
“We need every American community invested in this fight, not fearful and sitting on the sidelines,” Clinton said. “So, when Republican candidates, like Ted Cruz, call for treating American Muslims like criminals and for racially profiling predominantly Muslim neighborhoods, it’s wrong, it’s counter-productive, it’s dangerous.”
Clinton won the Arizona Democratic Primary Tuesday night as Sen. Bernie Sanders took the Utah and Idaho Caucuses.
Donald Trump won all 58 delegates in the GOP contest in Arizona. Cruz won in Utah.
Campaigning in Wisconsin Wednesday, Ohio Gov. John Kasich dismissed calls from Republican leaders to drop out of the presidential race.
