Pueblo Police getting Narcan

Pueblo firefighters already carry Narcan and the Police Department will soon begin using the lifesaving antidote.

Seventy units of the drug will go to trained officers on the force. Deputy Chief Troy Davenport says Narcan will be in every patrol car beginning in May.

“The potential to save a human life is huge and if we can use this product to save somebody who otherwise might have passed, i think that’s a good thing,” said Davenport.

The Fire Department will help the Police Department implement Narcan. Last year, they used it 140 times.
