Colorado Springs school locked down because of police activity
District 11 says Monroe Elementary was placed on a precautionary lockdown Friday. The lockdown has since been lifted. It was prompted by police activity in the surrounding neighborhood.
Monroe is located at the intersection of E. Pikes Peak Avenue and S. Chelton Road on the southeast side.
Police said a search warrant was executed at a nearby home.
