St. Paddy’s and NCAA bring local economy boost

With St. Patrick’s Day and the NCAA tournament starting on the same day, many people are expected to flock to local restaurants and bars to cheer on their teams or celebrate the Irish holiday.

Shamrock Brewing Company in Pueblo started serving breakfast early Thursday morning, and general manager Gordon Cossar said it only went up from there.

“It is definitely a mixed crowd. I’ve had a lot of people coming in asking for the games and they’re all wearing green, so it’s a little bit of both,” said Cossar.

Cossar said he expected between 1,000 and 2,000 people to go to Shamrock Thursday.
