Some cans of Bumble Bee tuna recalled because of possible contamination

Some cans of Bumble Bee tuna are being recalled because of possible contamination.

Bumble Bee did not offer specifics, but said the possible contamination could lead to life-threatening illness if consumed.

The recall is voluntary and no illnesses have been reported.

Bumble Bee says a deviation from a sterilization process in a facility not owned or operated by the company could result in contamination by unspecified pathogens.

The recall includes 31,579 cases that were produced in February. The following cans are affected:

1. 5 oz. Bumble Bee Chunk Light Tuna in Water: UPC 8660000020

Best By Dates: 02/10/2019, 02/16/2019, 02/17/2019, 02/18/2019, 02/22/2019, 02/23/2019, 02/25/2019

2. 5 oz. Bumble Bee Chunk Light Tuna in Oil: UPC 8660000021

Best By Dates: 02/23/2019

3. 4 Pack of 5 oz. Bumble Bee Chunk Light Tuna in Water: UPC 8660000736

Best By Dates: 02/9/2019, 02/10/2019, 02/22/2019, 02/29/2019

If you have any of the recalled tuna, you should throw it away and call (888) 820-1947 for a refund.
