Arkansas Riverwalk getting more money for expansion
The Arkansas Riverwalk is one step closer to getting a big boost in funding.
The state approved a more than $35 million grant for Pueblo agencies to build an exhibit hall for the Pueblo Convention Center, which will include a Professional Bull Riders training facility and an outdoors events area.
The money comes from the state sales tax used for tourism.
Great Pueblo Chamber of Commerce President Rod Slyhoff said this money will give the Pueblo economy a boost.
“It creates more visitors for Pueblo; more opportunities for Pueblo, just from the construction of the facility will put money into the economy,” he said.
The Pueblo City Council and the Urban Renewal Authority still have to vote to accept the money before construction starts.
