Lawmakers hold town hall meeting in Pueblo
State lawmakers held a town hall style meeting in Pueblo Saturday to show off their plans for the 2016 legislative session.
Senator Leroy Garcia and Representative Daneya Esgar were on hand to speak to the public, and field questions.
They said their key goals for the upcoming session include keeping the Colorado State Trooper’s office in Pueblo, legalizing rainwater collection, and bringing more jobs to Southern Colorado.
Those in attendance also has an opportunity to let the lawmakers know which issues were on their radar, like Pueblo resident Pablo Mora, who sees the need to invest more in child and teen development.
“I’m hoping that [Colorado] reinvests in its youth. Right now we’re just locking them up, issuing them tickets starting them on the path to the criminal justice system”.
