Triathlete competes to raise money for shark attack victim
giving their all at the rocky mountain state games… but one triathlete is competiing with someone else in mind. michael ortiz is raising money for hunter treschl… the colorado springs teen who lost his arm in a shark attack. new at five… krdo newschannel 13’s zach pagano spoke with the triathlete who says hunter’s story inspires him. competiing in a triathlon is no easy task but at the rocky mountain state games one triathlete has extra motivation. when you have somebody like hunter that you’re doing this for you kind of push yourself harder than you probably can go. michael ortiz is competing for hunter treschl a teen he’s only met a few times. hunter lost his arm in a shark attack while on vacation in north carolina. my heaf? my heax? my heart just went out to an end knowing who he was a strong man that he was it really hit me hunter and his family are rooting for ortiz every step of the way. i think it was just kind of excitinvg of exciting bg of exciting honestly to bg ngfgng?g?gnongfo see him starting off on this big race he’s been training for. ortiz trained hard… and he’s helping to raise donations to buy hunter a prosthetic arm.. i’m just deeply in gratitude to him for doing this. it’s a lot of work to train for a triathlon and get this whole thing organized and he’s really stepped up and done that and it’s been awesome hunter’s story is making an impact… and inspiring others to never give up. just keep the positivity, positivity, keep going strong… and hunter you’re going to do amazing things. in colorado springs, zach pagano, krdo newschannel 13. michael ortiz met hunter when he gave a guest ?? lecture in hunter’s chemistry class last year. hunter begins his junior year of high school this fall.
