Nonprofit gives free house cleanings to ease cancer patients’ stress
The founder of a local company wants to help women fighting cancer have one less thing to worry about during their treatment.
Lauren Aguirre, founder of Pur Eco Friendly Cleaning participates in Cleaning for a Reason. The non-profit pairs women fighting cancer with local cleaning companies to receive free house cleanings.
“We decided we wanted to work with women going through cancer, and a practical way for us to help women now with something that they need was the cleaning,” she said.
Sabrina Weros was one of the recent recepients.
“I was beyond, beyond grateful,” she said.
Weros was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago.
“I was just in shock,” she said. “I have no family history, I carry no gene. I was young, I was 39 at the time.”
Weros said during this last year, she has received much needed help from family, friends and the community. She hopes other women going through cancer will remember there is help out there.
“You don’t have to face it alone,” she said.
