Select, influential Republicans get tickets to GOP Debate in Boulder
Tickets are hard to come by for Wednesday night’s Republican Presidential Debate at the Coors Events Center in Boulder. But, one former state representative from Colorado Springs will have a seat near the stage.
The one time Colorado House Minority Leader, Mark Waller, is among the few from Southern Colorado who will be in the audience. He hiked with Jeb Bush in Boulder on Tuesday morning. “I think it’s a front row seat to history as it’s happening,” Waller said. “This election has taken on a life of its own. With 24 million people watching the first two debates I think it’s pretty exciting to have that front row seat to deciding who the right person is moving forward.”
Waller hoped to get an extra ticket to bring his 16-year-old son Truman, but couldn’t get one.
“I would like to see everybody attend the debate live,” Waller said. “I think that would be a great thing. But the reality of the situation is, the people who decided, decided there were only going to be a 1,000 tickets for this debate.”
The debate begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday night. KRDO NewsChannel 13 will have live coverage from Boulder and a full wrap up of the debate at 10 p.m.
