Victim in deadly Springs shooting identified
Colorado Springs Police have released the name of a man who died after being shot in a north-central neighborhood Sunday morning. He was Ethan Montoya, 30.
Montoya’s death has been ruled a homicide.
Police say Benjamin Sinclair, 24, faces manslaughter charges in connection to Montoya’s death.
The shooting happened at about 3:30 a.m. on October 25 in the 2800 block of Concord Street, which is near W. Fillmore St. and N. Cascade Ave.
Police say Montoya’s body was found in a detached garage behind a home. They say drugs and alcohol may have been involved in the shooting.
This is the 16th homicide in Colorado Springs this year. Police said there were 20 at this time last year.
