100 pizza fans score free food at Pueblo restaurant opening

Monday was a big day for pizza lovers in Pueblo.

During its grand opening, the new Old Chicago restaurant gave away free pizza for a year.

The prize didn’t just go to one person. The first 100 people through the door were winners.

Some people camped out in front of the restaurant on N. Elizabeth St. so they could save their spots in line.

One group of college students said they were excited when they first heard the chain was coming to Pueblo.

“It’s great! It’s a good addition to Pueblo, and it’ll be a really nice to come for the weekends and to get free food,” said free pie winner Maggie Geolat.

Old Chicago is donating a dollar from each sale of the “Chicago 7” specialty pizza to Posada Homeless Services through November 6.
